Parkland Schools Show Their Support for Japan

The Stony Plain Reporter in the last month has written two excellent articles regarding the compassion and generosity of students in Parkland County assisting in the Japanese relief effort.

The first article:
Demonstrates the perseverance of over 30 students who hosted a wake-a-thon at Greystone Centennial Middle School, which raised over $4,500 for the Red Cross Japanese Relief Fund.

The second article:
Is another initiative starting from High Park School, and extending to: Duffield School, Parkland Village School, The Stony Plain Connection for Learning, Central Elementary School in Whitecourt, and Ecole St. Paul's in Fort McMurray, were selling Japanese inspired headbands.

:The headbands were sold for $10, and $7.50 from each headband sold was donated to the Canadian Red Cross' Japanese Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.

Other Albertan Schools which have helped raise money for the Relief effort:

Vermillion and Clandonald
Sherwood Park
Vauxhall
